Tour Itinerary

Vietnam is famous for its attractive destinations, high mountains, green plains, busy cities, and long tropical sandy beaches. Highlights of this tour include a water doll program in Hanoi, a boat trip between thousands of islands in Halong Bay, ancient temples, and amazing bike trips. With so much to see and do, this two-week holiday in Vietnam will be fun for the whole family.

DAY 1: Hanoi Arrival (N/A)

At Noi Bai International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our guide and driver, who will then transfer you to the city. Hanoi, or “River-bound City,” as its name literally means, is Vietnam’s capital with a thousand-year-old history dating back to 1010. The city’s fascinating beauty, which is characterized by unique cultural relics, ancient streets of antique houses, elegant French colonial buildings, tree-lined boulevards, and romantic lakes, has made it one of the most charming cities in Asia.

DAY 2: Hanoi Full Day City Tour (B, L)

In the morning, start a full-day city tour to visit the Ho Chi Minh Complex, which features the life of Ho Chi Minh, the nation’s founder. At the complex, visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, where the nation’s founder’s body is preserved (closed on Monday, Friday, and through October –November), and the rural-style house on stilts where Ho Chi Minh lived and worked. Stop by one of Hanoi’s icons, the One Pillar Pagoda, built in the 11th century in dedication to Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara, or Buddha of Compassion, and reminiscent of a lotus blossom rising from a pond. Continue to the Temple of Literature, known as the first university of Vietnam, built in 1070 by the Ly Dynasty to honor Confucius, sages, and outstanding Vietnamese scholars.

In the afternoon, continue the tour to one of the following museums of choice: The Museum of Fine Arts, the National Museum of Vietnamese History, the Museum of Revolution, the Museum of Military History, or the Museum of Ethnology. Go to Hoan Kiem Lake, the center points of Hanoi, whose name “The Return Sword Lake” originated from a legend of a sacred sword and is home to a rare endangered giant turtle species, and visit Ngoc Son Temple on the lake. Next, take a one-hour cycle tour of the Old Quarter of Hanoi, with its ancient streets representing traditional trades from the past. Finish the tour at the Thang Long Opera Theatre with a traditional Vietnamese water puppet show.

DAY 3: Hanoi – Ninh Binh – Trang An (B, L)

8.00: Pick you up from Hanoi for departure to Ninh Binh.

10.15: Arrive in Tam Coc Village, visit a local farmer’s house, and be warmly welcomed with traditional tea and peanut candy. Widen knowledge about a typical farmer’s life in Vietnam and about the main business of VAC (Garden, Pond, and Cage). Besides, you will have a better understanding of the worship culture of Vietnamese families.

10.45: Join in a bike ride to discover the natural beauty of the countryside, as well as the characteristic Karst terrain with the limestone mountain system. Cycling to Hang Mua: climb to the top of the mountain and enjoy the panoramic view of Ninh Binh City and Tam Coc village.

12.30: Having lunch with Vietnamese cuisine.

13.30: Discover Tam Coc on a Sampan boat and enjoy the beauty of caves and limestone mountains on the smooth and peaceful river, which is called Ha Long on Land.

15.30: Our group will arrive at Hoa Lu, the ancient capital of Vietnam in the past. Your tour guide will give you information about the first emperor in Vietnam. You also have wide knowledge about the three dynasties in Ninh Binh. We will visit the temple of the first Emperor of Vietnam. More information about Vietnamese culture and architecture in temples 16.15: We finish activities in Ninh Binh and depart for Hanoi.

18.30: Arrive in Hanoi. Our tour guides and driver will drop you off at your hotel.

DAY 4: Ha Noi – Ha Long Bay – Cruise (B, L, D)

9.00: Pick up and depart for Halong Bay

11.30–12:30: Landing at Tuan Chau Marina and Boarding time, check in your cabin. followed by activities such as boarding the cruise for departure, a welcome drink will be served, a cruise briefing, safety instructions, and check-in cabins by the cruise manager.

13.00: A great lunch is served while cruising, passing by islets.

14.30: Kayaking around Luon Cave; visit Titop Island. Free choice of activities such as sunbathing, swimming, conquering the peak of the biggest island in Halong, and taking panoramic photos of Halong Bay in the afternoon

18:00: Happy Hour. Buy two beverages and get one free.

19.00: Cooking Class. Our chef will demonstrate the preparation of a particular Vietnamese cuisine in the dining room. Our guide will let you know what items will be prepared and will explain the process during the demonstration. Duration: about 20 to 30 minutes

19.30: Under the magnificent night sky, our luxury set menu dinner is served with a variety of Vietnamese and Asian foods.

21.00: Join the squid fishing on boat with our crews and enjoy the squid cooked with assistance from our chef, or laze yourself with our happy-hour drinks at the bar.

DAY 5:  Ha Long Bay – Hanoi – flight to Danang – Hoi An (B, L)

06.15: Early start for a Tai Chi demonstration on the sundeck; tea and coffee available.

07.00: Light breakfast will be served in the restaurant.

07.45: Discover Surprise Cave, one of the biggest caves in Halong Bay with beautiful stalactites and stalagmites.

09.00: Back to main boat for check out. Please put your baggage out to the corridor and settle your bill at reception.

11.30 Disembark at the harbor then get on the car back to Hanoi. Arrive in Hanoi – drop off at Noi Bai International Airport for flight to Danang about 14.30. At Danang Airport, driver will pick you up and transfer to your hotel in Hoi An.

DAY 6: Hoi An City Tour (B, L)

In the morning, start the journey to discover the charm of Hoi An as a renowned World Heritage Site. Once a bustling maritime commercial port of Asia between the 15th and 19th centuries, Hoi An is now a peaceful town of exceptionally well-preserved architecture, lifestyles, and traditions. After receiving a brief introduction to the history, shape, and color of traditional lanterns, start a walking tour around the town to see its highlights. Sightseeing includes the town’s iconic 400-year-old Covered Japanese Bridge with a small temple attached to one side as a prominent example of Japanese architecture; the Museum of Trade Ceramics, which is an elegant Vietnamese-style wooden house built in 1858 showcasing antique ceramic artifacts; the 200-year-old Tan Ky House, typifying an ancient Chinese merchant residence; the Ong Temple, built in 1653 by Chinese settlers to worship Guan Yu, an ancient Chinese general whose character stands for loyalty, bravery, and justice; and the local market, which is vibrant with colors and activities.

Lunch is at the local restaurant. Then transfer you back to your hotel.

DAY 7: Lantern making class, Tra Que Vegetable Village & Beach relax (B, L)

In the morning, meet our guide at the hotel for a biking tour to a craftsman’s home to learn about how to make a lantern. You will have a brief introduction to the history, shape, and color of the lanterns, as well as the many stages of making them. You can make your own lantern and keep it as a souvenir.

Continue biking to Tra Que Vegetable Village, where we will be introduced to its history, vegetable production (see the tools used for farming: hoes, shovels, planks, rakes, watering droplets, etc.), vegetable samples, and their usefulness and medicinal use.

You will visit the Tra Que Vegetable Village, which is famous for being green and clean, then go to the garden to make the soil and fertilize with seaweed picked from Tra Que. Continuing to do the steps: rake soil to bed, water vegetables, introduce ways to prevent pests during the development of vegetables.

You will be relaxing by soaking your feet in the local medicinal herbs to help you relieve some diseases, such as rheumatism.

Join a cooking class in the restaurant, where the chef will instruct you on how to learn and make Vietnamese traditional food. You will enjoy the lunch with the dishes you have prepared with the chef.

In the afternoon, you have free time to relax at An Bang Beach.

DAY 8: Hoi An – Hai Van Pass – Lap An Lagoon – Hue (B, L)

In the morning, driver and tour guide will pick you up at your hotel and depart to Hue via the Hai Van Pass (Ocean Cloud Pass). Enjoy a stunning headland-and-bay panoramic view from the pass, which for miles hugs the mountainside along the shoreline and overlooks the Pacific Ocean.

And sightseeing Lap An Lagoon, Lang Co. Beach With more than 10km of white sand beach and blue sea water, Lang Co Beach is an ideal place for relaxing, swimming, and taking photos. Arrival in Hue

DAY 9: Hue – Full Day City Tour (B, L)

In the morning, meet our guide at your hotel and take a full-day tour of Hue City, the former Imperial Capital of Vietnam for the 1802–1945 period and the last refuge of Vietnamese feudalism. The city’s beauty is characterized by a natural scenic landscape and an extensive variety of historical relics. Begin with Hue Citadel, a well-known UNESCO-recognized World Heritage Site, which is a 520-hectare fortress-like grand complex built in the early 1800s and featuring three enclosures separated by heavy ramparts, namely Kinh Thanh Hue (Civic City) as the outer, Hoang Thanh (Royal City) as the middle, and Tu Cam Thanh (Forbidden City) as the inner. Continue to Khai Dinh Tomb, the burial site of Vietnam’s second-to-last king and the most elaborate compared to other kings’ tombs. The tomb shows a vivid European influence in architecture, despite its Asian style.

Visit Dong Ba Market.

DAY 10: Hue – Ho Chi Minh – Half Day City Tour

You are free until you transfer to the airport for a flight to Ho Chi Minh City.

Arrive at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, be welcomed by our guide, and be transferred to your hotel. Ho Chi Minh City, formerly named Saigon, is the largest city and economic center of Vietnam and has always bustled with modern activities. It is where businesses converge and shoppers indulge themselves in unlimited choices. However, the city also carries with it a rich historical legacy, in contrast to its dazzling glamor.

Take a half-day city tour to visit the War Remnants Museum, which features a comprehensive collection of machinery, weapons, photos, and documentation of the Vietnam War with both the French and Americans, and the Reunification Palace, which was the former residence of the President of South Vietnam until the end of April 1975. Last, stop for shopping at the French-built Ben Thanh Market, which dates back to 1870 and whose main entrance clock tower has become a city’s symbol.

DAY 11: Full Day Mekong Delta – Phong Nam – Ben Tre (B, L)

Have breakfast at your hotel.

Our tour guide and car will pick you up at your hotel. Depart for Phong Nam. Arrive at Phong Nam Pier. Take the boat along the Chẹt Sậy river, one of the branches of the Mekong River. See daily activities along the river like fishing, water transfer, etc. Stop at the brickwork to see the local people make bricks by hand (the traditional way). Enjoy fresh coconut juice.

11:45: Visit the coconut husking factory to see the local people husking coconut by hand. Then, continue with the boat. Visit one of the plenty of coconut processing workshops where coconut candy is made and have a chance to learn about the coconut candy making process located along the canal (Lan Thanh coconut candy workshop) and taste tropical fruit and honey tea.

12:30: Turn on the natural scissors’ creeks, where they look smaller and smaller, to go to the village. Take a walk to the family-made sleeping mat. Afterward, being on a motorbike or biking and traveling through some tranquil villages where there are vegetable gardens to be able to touch on real life and find out tropical culture from peasants

Lunch is at the local restaurant.

Take the rowing boat to the small canal.

Arrive at Nhà Việc Bridge and board a bus back to Ho Chi Minh City.

Finish the tour at your hotel.
